There is always lots to see and do at an IMM, but what makes the event so special is that each year's IMM also has its own characteristics, ideas and activities. There a no rules as to what activities should be organised at an IMM, that is purely up to the organising club. However there are some activities that you do tend to find at pretty much every year's event. There is almost always a show and shine where you can admire all the lovely Mini's or even enter your own pride and joy and maybe win a prize. Sometimes there is also a glow show or an ICE competition. In recent years there has also been an exhibition of some quite special Mini's. An IMM is an ideal opportunity to engage in a spot of shopping. At most events you will find a trader's area with both local and international companies selling all manner of parts and accessories, and there is usually an autojumble area too so this can often be the place to pick up something rare or unusual. At some IMM locations it is possible to organise driving events, such as sprints, skid training, obstacle courses, etc. Sometimes there are other mini-related competitions for either individuals or club teams to enter. Recent challenges have included crankshaft throwing, rocker cover racing, mini pushing, etc. An IMM is a family event and some host clubs provide kid's activities so there is something to keep the younger visitors (and their parents) happy. |
